An Ode to Coding

I’ll keep this brief because there’s a lot I could say — a lot of reasons why, quite simply, I love to code.

But, as I recently realized, this is the crux of it. When I open up Jupyter Notebook and import pandas as pd, I’m doing intellectual work, I’m using, or exercising my brain. And this is the crucial part: In that process, I’m building something, the notebook on the screen — one markdown and line of code at a time — and the code itself to solve a real business problem or find an insight amid the data.
